Ad labelling in Russian social media: what creators need to know
What an ad post needs
- The label "Реклама" (advertising).
- The advertiser: name and, for example, a link to their site.
- An erid token obtained from an ORD before posting.
Who is responsible
Usually the advertiser or agency gets the token and the channel owner posts and reports impressions to the ORD. The contract says who does what.
Where ads are banned
Since 1 September 2025 Russian law bans ads on resources of organisations recognised as extremist in Russia, including Instagram* and Facebook*, and on resources of foreign agents.
