How to write captions for each network
| Network | What works | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube | Title up to 70 characters with the key phrase, 2–3 description lines | Clickbait that doesn't match the video |
| VK, OK | 2–4 sentences, a question to the audience | Walls of hashtags |
| Telegram, Max | One or two lines and a link | Long blocks without paragraphs |
| Dzen | A 2–3 sentence lead-in | Hashtags |
| TikTok, Reels* | One line, 3–5 hashtags | Text longer than the screen |
The first words matter most
Almost everywhere the caption is cut after the first line. Lead with what the viewer gets.
